I am brand new to sewing. I just got a Singer Machine for Christmas and I was trying it out today. For some reason the needle is not picking up the bobbin thread. In fact that bobbin won't even stay in the holder. It keeps popping out. What am I doing wrong? I have followed the instructions and I have the tension set right. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Any clues?

Hello! New here and have a question that I thought someone might be able to help with. I want to get a decent but (hopefully) inexpensive eyelet setter/punch set that will go through a decent thinkness of nylon and fabric..probabaly 1/8" or maybe a little more. Does this exist? I see a lot of these around that seem to be targeted towards scrapbooking and I'm not sure if those would work for the thickness I'm looking at. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone attended a Ray White Sewing Machine Repair Class? I found his site (www.whitesewingcenter.com/repairclass.php) after extensive searches on the web. He has a class scheduled for Las Vegas at the end of March and beginning of April and I am thinking about attending. I am seriously tired of taking my machines (mechanical) in for repairs. I am hoping this will be the answer. So, if anyone has gone to one of these classes, please let me know what they are like. I love the older machines...
