It doesn't look like there's much activity here, but one never knows. I have been retired from the Clothing Ind. for 10 years and lately started reading some reference literature about pattern making which brought out the question, "what to do with the knowledge I have acquired?" My belief is that with the advent of the CAD systems available, that the reasoning behind creating Patterns will be lost. This is not to say that I object to technology, as I used a Lectra System...

Have you heard about The 'Hugs' Project? It's a great group of people nationwide who are dedicated to sewing and sending needed items to our troops in the "sandbox". We have already sent out over 466,000 homemade "hugs". I'm new to sewing...sort of. Actually, I made this kick-ass shirt once but I have pretty much no knowledge of my sewing machine and sort of survive by winging it. Anyway, I just moved from the spelendor of Seattle to the filthiness of Richmond, Virginia and have taken up sewing in a big way to make up for all of the boredom here. Thankfully we're only here for the year.

Aside from this, I am a graduate student in library and information science, concentrating on archival...

Hello there! I got into sewing about 5 or so years ago. Then slowly and unwillingly drifted out of it. This past christmas my grandmaw bought me a new sewing machine so i could start up on my old hobby again. I didnt realize how much i missed sewing until i started it up again!! Ive already made one project. My biggest project will be to make my husband a quilt out of Crown Royal bags.

Hello to all of you. I'd like to say how pleased I was to find this site. I have sewn quite a lot in the very distant past and find that I would like to relearn some things and do some things I have not done. I am interested in making swim suits and I need information on what type of needles and special foots I will need to work with the stretch fabric. I also wonder if I sould use a serger and I'm sure there are lots of other bits of advice that I could benefit from so if you can steer me in...

Problems in printing out Hear Sachet Pattern

Hi,

I just found your site and I printed out the Creating a Heart Sachet as I want to make some of these items.

When it printed out the right margin some of the instructions and pictures didn't print right. so I don't have a complete instruction sheet. It cut off the wording so don't have the complete directions.

Thanks again and love to make cool items as I have taught myself to sew and still learning at age of 50 as there is not anyone in my area that gives...
